What does MGO 500+ mean?

MGO stands for methylglyoxal, a naturally occurring compound used to grade Manuka honey. An MGO 500+ rating indicates a stated methylglyoxal level of at least 500 mg/kg. The jar also displays an NPA 15+ activity rating. These clearly presented ratings make it easier to compare this product with other Australian Manuka honey strengths.
