MGO stands for methylglyoxal, a naturally occurring compound used to grade Manuka honey. An MGO 1600+ rating indicates a stated methylglyoxal level of at least 1600 mg/kg. The label also displays an NPA 30+ grade, giving customers a second clear reference when comparing very high-strength Australian Manuka honey.
